It was a strange day today. We have a life-long eccentric friend who does not eat as we do. He never eats fresh fruit nor fresh vegetables. In fact he avoids fresh fruit & veg as if they were poisonous.

His daily diet focusses on cheap fast food outlets burger-king & Mc Donald's every day from breakfast through to supper. He is also a fan of fish n chips always haddock never cod, cakes and pastries. Week end nights it's always sweet & sour chicken balls and fried rice, to which he adds copious amounts of table salt. A dish I have never eaten. It's been this way over 35 years and the beggar is stick thin too. He has never owned a phone and while he has state of the art tellies that he replaces annually he's never switched one on. The 'old' tellies are returned to their boxes and are stored in a room.

Occasionally we treat him to dine out at his restaurant of choice on us and we let him choose anywhere he wants but it is always predictable: an eat all you like pizza lunch at Pizza Hut. It's a treat for him as we live over 35 miles from an eat all you like pizza place.

We aren't fans of this sort of factory made highly processed fast food. We would readily eat and have eaten great pizzas in Naples and in Rome with gusto but there we seek out real buffalo mozzarella, fresh tomato  sauce, fresh basil, anchovies, clams, capers and so on. As the folk there are a discerning bunch it's easy to find great tasting really fresh 'fast' food at modest cost.

So it was that we arrived at this pizza place on the outskirts of Lisburn city. It was packed with diners. I'm always astonished at how easily satisfied our citizens are to eat this hugely processed low grade stuff. Yes it's a relatively cheap lunch at £8, including pasta and a salad bar that doesn't have much in the way of fresh healthy greens or reds. Instead it's bleached flour, poor quality anaemic cheese, tinned tomato sauce and cheap meat. No fresh basil no fresh  chilli and no fish of any kind.

The pizza choices focussed on ham & pineapple, cheese & tomato, chicken and a thin base cheap pepperoni meat with green chilli from a jar. They were hot. They were large. They were modestly topped and the green chilli was acrid heat without any real flavour. There was also a garlic bread, though it was difficult to detect garlic. The service was ace and our surroundings were a bit worn in places.

Our diet and his full sugar Pepsi came from a pump dispenser and had a distinct bleach tang with a lack of fizz and again the servings are generous.

Our friend enjoyed his pizza feast immensely. We were just glad we go there only rarely.

He then suggested dessert so we ended up in Mc Donald's at Banbridge outlet for caramel sundaes and black coffees. Next he decided we should go to see the movie Captain Underpants at the outlet. We had no idea what he was talking about but hey ho in for a penny. Here was 90 minutes I never want to re-live; it was terrible.

When we left the cinema we persuaded him to go to the Linen Hill for coffee & cake. He agreed, declined the cake, as he was planning a Big Mac meal for supper, and to our surprise ordered an earl grey tea, adding that he hasn't had earl grey in several years. That ended our day and we parted company - us toward home and him off to a Big Mac supper.

As stated in my other reviews, I love me some sweet pizza! My local pizza options are poor though , so I am forced to go to Dundonald, Belfast or Lisburn for some pizza action after the financial difficulties of the Pizza Hut group in Northern Ireland led to my local Carryduff outlet being closed down!

My friend Gerry works in this Pizza hut, and as an interesting nugget I can inform you that it is regularly the most profitable pizza hut outlet in the whole of Northern Ireland! It is easy to see why: it is in a great location, right beside the Lisburn cinema, the service is great and the food is good and reliable too.

On the occasions I have been here the staff have always been attentive and friendly, whether that's a warm welcome or quickly offering you a box to take leftover pizza home, which is an excellent late night munchies meal! Pizza hut do great pizzas, either deep pan or thin crust, and their cheese bites and stuffed crusts are really delicious! There is also a good range of non pizza options for vegetarians and the like!

And there is a good range of desserts, with the obvious favourite the refillable ice cream factory! I have a fond memory of being a cheap 15 year old in here with a few friends and I ordered one ice cream factory for our table, before asking for four spoons as soon as she brought the bowl over! I am informed that this is not kosher in store anymore but it was excellent at the time to abuse!

I was in Pizza Hut last night and it was pretty much okay. It was extremely busy when we arrived and continued to fill a table as soon as it was cleared. Food and prices are reasonable.
Quite disappointed with the customer service. Was told 2 seconds on several occassions by various staff members. One member of staff even loudly stated Jesus Christ when he was having trouble setting food on our table.
If the customer service was better, I would recommed Pizza Hut more.

The great thing about this Pizza Hut is its location. Situated at the Ominplex means that there is tons of parking and the cinema is just half a minutes walk away. So good for a night out.
The pizzas themselves are good with enough variety on the menu. Service is ok. For a while it had been pretty wick, (we were on the verge of walking out one time), but has improved now. Two things to bring better improvement - firstly a proper waiting area for busy times, and secondly, perhaps a little more attention paid when cleaning the glasses and cutlery!

Service here isn't great but it's not for the want of trying. The staff are very pleasant, so I can't figure out the problem. Food is slow to come, although the place is usually really busy. They need more staff at peak times.
